Production
- polypropylene fibres are pre-heated, pre-stretched and only than woven by machine into strapping of the desired width and thickness
- the colouring and printing of the strapping is not a problem
Elasticity
- the elasticity (elongation) of Polypropylene (PP) is excellent. This strapping is used for heavy loads which may be subject to a pulsating load during transport such as on trucks, ships or trains. Because of this characteristics, this material is also used, for example, for safety belts in cars, aircraft, etc.
Quality
- the quality of the strapping (tensile strength (for linear and pulsating loads), elasticity and retained tensile force) is determined by the quality of the fibres (price), the tightness of the weave and whether or not the weaving is done with pre-tension (see Elongation Garph)
Disadvantages
- for some applications the higher elasticity may be seen as a disadvantage
- often somewhat more expensive than the woven PET because of the high quality

Application
- heavy loads, cargo securing
- safety belts for cars and aircraft (shock resistant)
